Lanark Amateur Musical Society (LAMS) have announced local charity ‘Who Dares Cares’ as Charity Partner for their 2025 Production of Sunshine on Leith.
Sunshine on Leith is a musical featuring music by The Proclaimers. The film follows the stories of Davy and Ally, who have to re-learn how to live life in Edinburgh after coming home from serving in Afghanistan.
Who Dares Cares was founded in 2016 by two former serving soldiers, Calum MacLeod and Colin Maclachlan. Who Dares Cares has a team of volunteers committed to supporting our Armed Forces and Blue Light Services personnel, including their families, who are suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Nicole Duthie, LAMS President said “As a local charity with a link to the storyline, we are delighted to welcome ‘Who Dares Cares’ as our charity partner for Sunshine on Leith. We’re very proud to be supporting Who Dares Cares in raising awareness of the important work they do in supporting veterans and their families in our local area and across the country”.
Calum MacLeod and Colin Maclachlan, Who Dares Cares Co-founders said “We are delighted to be selected as the charity partner for Sunshine on Leith. Adjusting to life away from the Armed Forces can be a difficult transition, the work we do at Who Dares Cares is life-changing and often life-saving. At times life can be isolating and daunting for our service personnel and their families and at Who Dares Cares we’re here to help”.
